Hello Project Management Professionals,

We are proud to offer our next dinner meeting at Normandie Farm Restaurant
located at 10710 Falls Road, Potomac, MD (Phone: 301-983-8838, web site

Directions: Take Rt 270 to the Falls Road exit.  Proceed south towards Potomac. 
Normandie Farm is 3 1/2 miles on the right.

Alternate directions: take the beltway, RT 495 to exit 39.  Proceed west on
River Road 3 1/2 miles.  Turn right onto Falls Road and proceed 3/4 mile to
Normandie Farm on the left.

Our Meeting agenda is as follows:

Speaker: Dr. Alex Pavlak

Dr. Alex Pavlak (PhD ME, PE) is an engineer and independent consultant. He has led several major projects that involved creating systems architecture. This includes a 1985 project that synthesized the architecture of an unprecedented submarine sonar system. He offers training workshops, guest lectures, coaching and consulting services for Modern Tiger Teams and creating architecture. He can be reached at thales@comcast.net. Topic:"Enterprise Architecture as Strategic Vision"

IT has become an important integral part of any enterprise. Given conflicting demands, management needs to somehow decide which systems offer the best return on investment. Rational capital investment requires a vision, a picture of what operations should look like at some point in the future. This vision becomes the basis for making decisions. So how does an enterprise create such a vision when everything seems to be interrelated and changing? This talk will focus on the architecture of the enterprise and how to create the strategic vision.
