TOPIC:  Project Manager as Generalist: Project Manager as Obsolete! –What You Need to Know
Find out why the development of project management global industry standards, the availability of highly-educated low-cost labor, disruption of basic supply and demand laws and information overload is driving specialization of project management functions –and what you must do to prevent becoming an obsolete generalist.
Attendees will learn and practice the five steps to specialization in project management, recognize driving forces behind specialization and its impact on your career and how to adapt to the new emerging roles.
Project managers are experiencing rapid commoditization of skills and pressure to keep the cost of project services down. This is changing the landscape for the practicing project manager; many will focus on a specialized expert area, such as risk, scheduling or procurement.  Others will focus on project administration, controls and reporting, while still others will find demands for consultative or leadership skills.   Specialization increases competition and some skills will be more valuable than others depending on customer needs and project characteristics.
Attend this meeting and gain information you need to navigate your project management career through today’s rapidly changing project management environment.
