John Elrick is a serial entrepreneur who has been involved in the start-up of five computer industry related businesses. In 2001, John joined Fenestra Technologies as part of a small team of consultants working on a research project with the Economic Directorate of the Census Bureau.
The initial goal of this project was to automate the design and production of over 600 survey forms and to create a generic electronic reporting instrument for use by respondents to the Economic Census. The project has been a resounding success, resulting in the avoidance of several millions of dollars of expense by the Directorate to complete their mandated mission. Currently the team is working on improving the systems with the goal of improving the productivity and return on investment to the Census Bureau.
John has actively investigated and been involved with personal productivity and performance technologies throughout his career, studying many strategies including DISC, Neuro Linguistic Programming, and the Myers Briggs Type Indicator. He is a certified Myers Briggs Practitioner, certified Scrum Master, and has been a member of Toastmasters International for fourteen years.
John will be sharing some stories from his experiences in starting up and running his multiple businesses. This would be a good session for anyone who has ever thought about going out and starting up a computer industry or other business as a startup.
